When all other communications are down, ham radio remains. It has been the lifeline in times of chaos and disaster since the earliest days of radio. It has come a long way since the days when voice and CW (Morse code) were the only modes. Now there are many digital modes that are far more efficient at getting information from one place to another with speed and accuracy and with low power consumption.
The YouTube series, Ham Radio Made Simple, by MJ (Call Sign KW3KW), is an excellent resource for understanding and getting on the air with digital modes. He has a series of videos that are specifically designed for preppers, and they are a highly recommended resource. When you watch them, please be sure to “Like” and Subscribe, as it really helps his channel.
